The audio of the film 'Mandhira Punnagai' was launched onWednesday morning October 20th 2010 at PVR Cinemas. Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council president Ramanarayanan unveiled the music of the film. It was the first film for PVR films to host an audio launch function. Vidyasagar, best known for his soulful melodies has scored the music for Mandhira Punnagai. Directors Dharani, SP Jananathan,
Sasikumar, Samuthirakani, Hari, Vasantha Balan, Suseendran, Ezhil, lyrics writer Vivega and producer TG Thyagarajan were present at the event. Heroine Meenakshi also graced the event. She was the cynosure of all eyes as she was wearing a mini skirt.

The story of the film is about a person who has a world unto himself and is unaffected byanything, not even love. But a girl trespass his mind and tries to change his ideas on love and women. When their different ideas on love and life try to converge with it diverges from the core point. The story revolves around Kadhir (Karu Palaniappan), a talented architect who lives life in his own ways. He stays alone in an apartment,
drinks, and even has a regular call girl to fulfil his ‘needs’. When everyone hates him, Nandini (Meenakshi), enters his life as one of his clients. Slowly, both are attracted towards each other and romance blossoms. But the grey shades in Karu Palaniappan spoil things and what follows are some twists and turns.
Santhanam has played the role of Karu Palaniappan assistant. The female lead Meenakshi (Nandhini) has played the role of an employee in a Honda's car showroom. Meenakshi falls in love with Karu Palaniappan and in the later stages Karu Palaniappan does the same. Despite knowing all the facts about Karu Palaniappan, Meenakshi wishes to marry him.
